Our garlic heads are between 2.25 and 2.5 inches in size, generally referred to as jumbo. German Extra-Hardy, also called German Stiffneck, German White, or Northern White, is a porcelain hardneck variety with very white wrappers over nice big cloves. The large cloves have a strong raw flavor that mellows when cooked. The high sugar content makes German Extra Hardy one of the very best garlic varieties for roasting. German Extra Hardy is also easy to peel and a great keeper. Our garlic is raised on our family farm.
